Port 143 was opened unneccessarily
Solution
ChoiceMail One and the Webmail Gateway plugin open several ports as part of their normal operation. However, the webmail gateway also opens port 143 (IMAP protocol) and this is not always neccessary.
If you don't need access to web-based mail systems such as AOL, Yahoo, MSN, or Hotmail, then you can solve this problem by deleting the IzyMail.exe file from the ChoiceMail folder (make sure you totally shutdown ChoiceMail first.
Alternatively, if you are concerned about having an extra port opened (which by the way is not a problem if you are behind a firewall), you can download a small file which, when installed, will prevent that port from being opened. The file is called noimap.reg and adds a key into your registry that prevents port 143 from being opened.
Close ChoiceMail completely (Actions | Exit), download noimap.reg and double-click on it to install it into your registry. When you open ChoiceMail again, port 143 will no longer be opened.
